I’m sure you’ve all seen the trailer for the upcoming Amy Adams film called Leap Year. And if you haven’t and love some cheesy love stories, this movie is for you. Now what’s the story behind leap year? On a leap day – tradition says that women are allowed to propose and it is said that the males cannot refuse.

That’s the plot of this movie, shes proposing to her boyfriend, since he hasn’t done it yet.

Supposedly, a 1288 law by Queen Margaret of Scotland required that fines be levied if a marriage proposal was refused by the man; compensation ranged from a kiss to a silk gown, in order to soften the blow.

Now ladies… would you be the type to propose on Leap day? And even more important, will you be checking out the movie Leap Day hitting theaters tomorrow? I know I will… hehe
