Like many new mommys, I wanted to have a photo shoot of my new love… like those amazing pictures of them all bundled up and sleeping. Well, since Mavi wasn’t a small baby… the whole bundling up did not work and the sleeping even less. Maybe I should of taken pictures when he was just a few days old (not sure that would of helped) but instead we did a photoshoot when he was 3 weeks old. Here are a few pics of the shoot.
I love this little guy. Even if he was being difficult, crying and pooped all over the place that day. (yup you read right) I think we got some sweet pictures.

It pains me but other than hold him close to my body and hoping my body heat helps relieve his pain… there isn’t much I can do.
I’ve had friends tell me that they too had babies with intense tummy aches, and realized baby was intolerant to the dairy intake or more like the effects it has on the breast milk. (guess it changes the taste or something)
So I thought I would do the test. Stop all dairy products for a few days to see if there’s a difference. Sucks though, because I just bought a tub of brownie ice-cream and I love me a glass of chocolate milk… but I would do anything for baby boy…. even cut the cheese. (yup you read right)
Who knows, this might be an even better way to shed the weight. No?
Friday was Mavrick 1 month old birthday. Could you believe it’s already been 1 month? Time truly does fly. Plus, he’s getting so big, and changes so much. He now wears 3 month old clothes and talks baby plus he smiles.
It all started off with the already painted wall. Purple-ish gray hue with white wainscoting. We had painted this room when we moved in our house taking into account this would “one day” be the room of baby. I wanted something that was neutral so we could either go boy or girl with pops of color. I love gray so it was only appropriate to incorporate that in major elements in the room.
I chose tone on tone gray houndstooth fabric for the modern glider that would fit perfectly in the corner of the room. A gray shag rug which would be placed under the dark wood crib would accent the gray in the glider. I was getting custom bedding made and because it would be handmade, I wanted to choose colors that were gender neutral so that I can use this amazing bedding for baby #2 if we happen to have one I wanted modern prints; stripes and dots in bright colors ; blues, yellows and green.
Theme? Well you can say that I went pinwheel crazy. I guess that’s the theme. Modern Bright Pinwheel gender neutral nursery. Phew… that is a long title, but seems to be right on the dot. I loved pinwheels as a child and realized it was something that wasn’t being used much in nurseries (well anyway I haven’t seen any) … so I went all out. Making this colorful paper toys was a great inexpensive DIY project and I scattered them all around the room. I made a wall of custom art (all designed by me) framed in white frames (so that they would pop on the gray wall) and added a couple of pinwheels to the layout.
I also added some pinwheels in the pom clusters I also DIY-ed. I didn’t want to have a mobile in the room so I figured having a cluster would be a more modern way to go about it. I included 2 white paper lanterns I took home from my baby shower as well as green and blue paper lanterns I found at the party store. They fit perfectly with the greens and blues in the bedding. Lastly, I wanted to incorporate typography somehow, so I got custom letters made out of bamboo and hung them from the cluster.
I am really happy with the outcome of the room, I just hope baby boy will too.
Here is a movie I made of a mini tour of Mavi’s nursery. With custom bedding to DIY frames and PomPom clusters, this blue, yellow, green and gray modern nursery is perfect for this little boy. (Well I seem to think so)

Since my last post; announcing I was on my way to the hospital for my induction… things have changed a little in the Glamour This! House. After being at the hospital for a little over 14 hours and pushing for 3 (and some slight complications) … we finally got to me our little man.
Introducing

Born Tuesday July 13th 2010
Weighing : 9 lbs
Measuring: 21.75 “
Both the hubs and are in love. More than we thought was possible. It was all worth it. (even if they lie and say you forget the pain right after you see your baby… I remember the pain… heck yes. But ya, it was all worth it) I’ll share my birth story with all of yous in a bit. But for now, back to my new job; being a mommy.
I’ll be back to regular posting in a bit. Until then, hope you enjoy the guest bloggers
I write this on my iPhone on my way to the hospital for the big day (even if it’s 7 days after my official July 6th due date)
I have to admit I am exhausted. I didn’t sleep much and it wasn’t because of the nerves. Up until last night, or should I say early morning I haven’t really had contractions. Well let me tell you that wasn’t the case yesterday since from midnight to 4 in the morning I was tracking my contractions with my very useful iPhone app.
So ya, I slept 2 hours, 3 tops but that won’t get me down. I am beyond excited that I’m going into the hospital 2 and coming out 3.
For the rest of the week (starting tomorrow) I will have guest bloggers while I enjoy time with family and friends… More specifically my little one. Don’t worry I’ll keep you updated (even more so via twitter if you follow me @blushink)
So be friendly by welcoming my guest bloggers with lots of comments. See you soon
Today is my official due date. Yup, I’m at 40 weeks in my pregnancy. I am really excited to see this lil guys face and hope he decides to come real real soon. So all I am doing is waiting. Impatiently.
Of course the nursery is complete and almost ready to share with the blog-o-sphere… but for now, I am just giving you a sneek peek of 1 major element in the room. Remember I blogged about clusters? Well here is my version :
I am all for creating suspense… so hopefully you will want to see the rest. All you need to know is this… yellow, green and blue (with a hint of gray) are the colors that make up the room. Elements of typography, paper pinwheels, and patterns make up the decor of the room.
I made all the pinwheels and pompoms myself, and well that awesome bamboo typography, courtesy of LuxeCuts™
As you know, I’m pregnant. Really Really pregnant. (39weeks, 5 days) So let me start off by saying … I can’t wait to give birth. Yup it will be painful (my tolerance for pain is like -10) there will be tearing, screaming and crying (yup i’m overally emotional) but that doesn’t matter because I am more than ready. My body wants to poop this baby out… but baby has decided that it’s not time yet. So I wait. Hoping my water will break or the contractions will kick in.
Since I am due on July 6th and obviously having a newborn and getting adjusted to being a new mom isn’t super easy, I decided it would be best to have some guest bloggers for the next couple of weeks. That way, you won’t be hung out to dry with lack of posts, you will “meet” new bloggers and maybe discover a few things that I don’t generally blog about. This will be the first time having guest bloggers on Glamour This! and I am actually pretty excited about the whole thing.
I will blog updates in between guest posts (don’t worry… I won’t disappear on you) and will share my new bundle of joy with you (if I can convince the hubby) So please be kind and welcome our guest bloggers with open arms and comments
Oh and if, and I say IF... I go past my due date… then the guest blogging will be pushed back. I mean the whole point is to allow me to have a semi-blogging maternity leave. So stay tunned for some blogging amazingness. Alright I’m off, gonna go bounce on a ball… walk a mile and wash the floors on all fours in hopes to kick start labour
