Maybe it’s because I always have a soft spot for vintage rose, but I am LOVING this new font by Cadson Demak named Kurry. It reminds me of vintage ice cream / sweet shop. With a variety of weights and glyphes with pretty leg extensions (yes, I just made up that term) it makes this a go-to font for designers (or anyone for that matter)

Ah… Kurry, how you are on my list of to-buy fonts. Can’t wait to play with this font. To see a cute video about the flexibility of this typeface, click here.

I’m sure you’ve seen this book before and if you haven’t then you are up for a treat (especially if you are a typography lover like me). It’s an super cute illustrated activity book to help you (or others) understand typography lingo.

Hyperactivitypography from A to Z is an activity book for typographers illustrated in a nostalgic vintage style to give it a sweet and childlike look. The book is packed with activities, ranging from silly to hard core nerdiness. It’s great to test your skills on and to learn new things while having fun. Who said typography had to be stiff and boring?

Honestly, I think my kids will hate me. I’d be one to buy each of them one of these to teach them at an early age the important of typography. Hell to the NO there won’t be an use of Comic Sans in my household. Oh I can forsee complex typography discussions. hehe.

In my 101 in 1001 list, I had to redo my resume. Something more representative of me, or my line of work. I can’t really take credit for the layout because I found one I liked here, but I redid it to make it more me. I decided to redesign my resume in April of last year but I kept forgetting to share my completed item on the blog.

I’m happy to cross of no. 49 on my list, but I have over 60 items more to go. Another item that’s relevant to this one is updating my portfolio. I did it back in April (a print version) but my list strictly says “online portfolio” with the blog redesign, it’s bound to happen.

I thought I would start sharing typography again on the blog. Fonts make me so happy and while I work with fonts all day, I want to share my finds with you (in case you are font lovers as well) Today I am featuring Anne Bonny from Melle Diette. It’s a bodoni inspired typeface with feminine touches with swashes, ornaments and additional glyphes. Available for download on My Fonts

Happy NEW YEARS everyone!!! I know I’m a little late, but before the holidays I told myself I would take a break from blogging and spend time with my family. (I know I’ve actually haven’t been really active blogging lately but that will change this year! ) For 2012, I told myself I would work on image. Image in several ways actually. One way is with this blog. I’ve been planning on working on a redesign for some time now, and 2012 is the year it will happen. It might not happen as soon as I would like, but there are 12 months in the year … right?

The second version of image is me. Is the way I present myself. It’s working on my lack of fashion and making it a lack no more. I don’t necessarily have the money to spend on clothing… and even if I did I never seem to find anything, so I told myself I would buy 1 piece a month. No more no less. A piece can be anything from a shirt, to boots to a purse or accessoires. (and nothing at regular price – seeing we are in debt paying off mode.) I’m not very good with fashion and the clothes I do have aren’t interchangeable. So I want to be smart about it from now on. ( I apologize in advance to my pinterest followers if you happen to see alot of outfit pins in my A la Mode board, but I really do need the help)
The third version of image is still about me. I am due to have bébé2 in May, right around my birthday and I really want to lose the pregnancy weight and more. I will be on maternity leave for 12 months so it’s my time to start running again and doing the C25K program again (I downloaded the Ease to 5k App for my iPhone). I still had 5 lbs to lose when I got pregnant, so I will lose that and another 25lbs. I don’t feel great about my body, and it’s not about being skinny (because trust me I’ve never been smaller than a size 12) but it’s about feeling healthy. I will document my progress on the blog (that way it will give me an extra kick in the butt!)
The fourth version of image is in our home. With the arrival of bébé2 we have ALOT of changes to do. From finishing the bedroom downstairs so that we can move our bedroom there, to make Mavrick his first toddler room and redecorate the nursery. All in a span of 3 months. I will share the progress of those rooms as well as the finished products, because my House Tour has been pretty inactive for a while. I have great projects in mind for the nursery and toddler room and I can’t wait to share it with you.
What are your plans for 2012 ?

The holidays are here (clearly)… heck Christmas is this weekend (how did that happen?) But I never get tired of seeing cards. I love paper and this beautiful Holiday “gift pack”, which includes 3 cards, gift tags, postcards and an ornament, illustrated, designed and printed all by Lauren Bowles and her team at Birdsong Gregory makes me one happy happy designer. It’s work like this that makes me appreciate my line of work and I can truly admire the throught that went behind this piece of art. (because it truly is)

What holiday card have your seen this year that made you all happy and cheery?

Who doesn’t love cheery bathroom?! Well, I think this one featured on Spearmint Baby is absolutely darling. I love the mixtures of yellows, white and aqua and not to mention the stripes and polka dots. Makes me want to be in there forever. Maybe this will make your kids want to brush their teeth more? hehe

Do you like unconventional colors for a bathroom? Or do you tend to stick with the classics?

So remember how I blogged about the most adorable baby girl shoes (and how I even own some but I don’t even have a girl) Well, Joyfolie is still one of my favorite places to buy unique girl shoes (I give them as gifts) they are beautiful and in September she launched the manufactured line to be able to keep up with demand! (Here are just a few styles)

She has been working extra long hours to offer the lines to the mass public (and well to get her name out there) So a couple of weeks ago…. her manufactured lines (well 3 pairs) can be found at Anthropologie (for Kids). Plus in the next week or so, they will be available at Gap and Piperlime. (Quick savers tip, the shoes/boots available on these sites are actually cheaper if purchased from the Joyfolie site itself)

Seeing I don’t have a girl, I’m definitely looking forward to the launch of her woman shoes. Here is a sneek peek.

Check out the Joyfolie site for more styles available. If ever you touch base with her, be sure to tell her that Kelly sent you !
