Reveal : Bedroom

Next up on the house tour, is our bedroom. A place where I love to relax, read blogs/tweet (on my laptop or iphone) and sometimes, I mean sometimes I read. I find comfort in my room and I’m very happy on how it came out.

You probably recognize a few items from Ikea; Bedding, curtains, night table, lamp, storage, planter, boxes and carpet (ya, I guess it’s a little more than a few). I tried to make it not so obvious though by pairing it with vintage elements, custom artwork and hand painted framed mirror. There are so many little details in my room that I don’t have shots of. (I think this might call for another shooting.)

My favorite piece has to be that 1930s chipped paint window pane. I decided to turn the window pane and place it horizontally so that I can display elements; a necklace, scarf, typography book and painted two letters in gray and leaned them against the wall. I really love how it frames each piece and makes it – it’s own piece of art. Definitely something people comment on when they come in our room.

We also purchased from an antique shop a really really old wooden chair and coat rack that we placed in the corner of the room. The chair isn’t meant to sit on (since it’s a little worn out) so I used it to display books instead. I just love all that chipped paint.

Now I can’t guarantee our room will stay like this forever (since I love switching things around) but for now this is it. Can’t wait to show you more when the other areas in our home are complete.

Oooh the windowpane is GORGEOUS! I adore it. Also…the rug at the end of your bed is great! Love your room.

I love the little flowers on the top of the headboard. This is a simple yet very beautiful design. Good job!
