Well then you might as well call me Ragu from now on, cuz that’s what I am : prego (the non-canned version) This news is a big a shocker to me as it was to my family and friends. Well…because this pregnancy wasn’t planned.

I was on the pill, missed a few a lot  and voila, I got prego. Now I know what you are thinking. “Kelly, you missed birth control pills? What did you expect?!?” Well let me explain a little. Last December until end of June I got off the pill because we had started trying with no luck of course, but once we bought our house… we decided we would wait a year.  So I got back on the pill in August.

With the hubs starting his new job, packing, prepping for the move, decorating and unpacking, let me tell you the “sex-life” was almost nonexistent. (Hey, don’t laugh, I am sure many of yous have been through this… admit it) I missed pills (because I needed a renewal but my doc was on vacation and the pharmacy didn’t want to help me out) but I figured, what the heck we tired non-stop for 6 months with no luck, and with the nonexistant sex life, what were the odds. Well bam that’s when it happened. (Stupid of me, I know) but I guess this baby had plans of its own. I see it as a blessing, though to be honest, I am not fully prepared to be a mommy. (but then again, who is?)

Tree

I held on to the secret until Christmas (hence the Christmas tree pics), so my family and friends had no clue. I’m so glad I don’t need to hide this any longer, or suck my belly in. We played charades and I drew a ‘I am pregnant’ drawing. How did I do that?

Eye + Ham + Pray + Egg + Net + Ant

At the end when they finally figured it out… they didn’t catch on. They thought it was part of the game… but when I said ‘for real’ the house went nuts. My mom lost it… and cried for hours, and was on the phone telling everyone she’s gonna be a grandma for the first time. I also made everyone a Christmas ball saying ‘Auntie Tanya’s first Christmas’ ‘Grandpa’s first Christmas’ .. etc so that this time next year, we can all put them in the tree and add Baby’s first Christmas ball too… hehe

I’m starting my 15W this week and this might be a shocker but I haven’t seen the doctor yet (stupid Quebec Health System – a post on that coming soon ;) ) But I only have to wait another 2 days, because I am finally seeing him this Wednesday. Who hoo!!!
So that’s the big news, I’m Ragu Prego.

Now I hope you don’t mind that there will be a little more baby talk on Glamour This! At first I was considering starting a completely new blog Glamour This! {Baby edition} having a header with a stroller instead of shopping bags. I haven’t completely dismissed that idea, but for now, the baby posts will be blogged here, until I get my act together. I mean keeping up with one blog at the moment is alot. Can you imagine a completely other one? But if there’s demand for it… well, you never know.

Was your pregnancy unexpected… as in : we-weren’t-planning-on-having-babies-now? If so, how did you react. Because how I did… that’s completely another post. ;)

  22. Firstly, congratulations!

Secondly, both of my kids were “precious surprises” …as me & hubby like to put it :-) .

Honestly, my 1st reaction wasn’t pink cupcakes and fuzzy bunnies…after all, we had plans, goals, fun, freedom, & projects to accomplish before a baby would come into our lives. But, somehow, it works out perfectly in the end…my precious little ones are now my inspiration to be a success at my current goals…

    :-)
