Before I got pregnant I started shopping around in hopes to find a great new eau de parfum. Why before I got pregnant? Well, I honestly didn’t like wearing perfume. Not that it got me nauseous or anything of that sort… but I didn’t want to smell (I dunno I had this fixed idea that hormones and perfume didn’t mix. Weird I know! )
I’ve had a history of switching perfumes once a bottle is finished, but before the pregnancy I was wearing Turquatic from M.A.C. I think it happened to be my 4th bottle (they are teeny tiny) and now I’m ready to switch.
This is my perfume history:
Cool Water by Davidoff
Aqua di Gio by Giorgio Armani
Angel by Thierry Mugler
Sentiment by Escada
Lolita Lempicka by Lolita Lempicka
Turquatic by M.A.C
As you can see, I’m a sweet scent type of girl… I stay miles away from anything spicy or too floral. That stuff makes me nauseous (non-pregnant). eeeek. So the last time I left off the perfume search, I found 2 perfumes that I actually enjoy the smell from the bottle and even when its on me.
Viva la Juicy by Juicy Couture & Black XS by Paco Rabanne
Now, both smell really nice (hubby approved) but was leaning more towards the Black XS sent. I was still unsure… i know this may sound weird, but the bottle wasn’t as pretty as Viva la Juicy. Then I remembered my friend got a bottle of Flower Bomb by Viktor & Rolf and it smelled SOOOOOO nice plus the packaging was to die for. But with the 120$ price tag, I knew I had to give up that idea even if the hubs liked that perfume above all the ones I showed him, or wore in the past. Le sigh.
Well fast forward 7 months later…. (which is techinically two-weeks ago) and I am beyond excited. Why? Because I entered a contest to win a bottle of Flowerbomb to celebrate it’s 5th anniversary. and believe it or not. I WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have NO idea how freaken excited I am. Could you believe, winning something on a blog, that you would literally do anything to actually win it. Well that’s how I felt about this giveaway. I can’t wait to receive the package in the mail and in a way, I am happy I didn’t end up buying those two other perfumes. They smelt nice, but not 100% me.
I hope you don’t think I’m crazy, because I didn’t buy a perfume cuz of it’s packaging. Have you chosen a perfume based on the packaging? Does the packaging affect your overall impression on the product. Does it make it feel like its more of a high end, more expensive product?
Whats your take on the subject?
