This month has been a crazy one so far…. working on the new blog/website, weddings & birthdays left and right. The most important event yet, is the news I will share with all of yous. I got the news the week of my birthday so talk about a great birthday gift. We had put an offer on the house and we got the house…. so we are official home owners… Yipee!!!

We are moving in September 10th and thats when our life officially begins (even if we’ve been married almost a year) a house makes it so much more official. Here are some pictures taken by the realtor for listing purposes.

We love the openness of the main floor, its a huge reason why we purchased the place. Not only is it fun when you are hosting parties… but there are lots of windows and so much natural light comes in the house… even the basement. Now, that is a plus when buying a house ( no need to pay expensive electricity bills
)

The current owners did a great job decorating, even though I would change a couple of things, so I really hope when it will be our turn to re-decorate we will do an even better job. If thats even possible

I can’t wait to start decorating, do landscaping and making this house our own. It needs some exterior TLC but thats the reason I wanted a house to begin with. I’m gonna start an moodboard of decor magazine clippings. For you home owners, what advice would you give me for preparing myself for the big move?

Love it! Congratulations! This is the sweetest little house.. love the windows..
Definitely start a binder! I started one about six months before we bought our house in 2006, and it’s helped keep everything fairly organized. I divided it into rooms/areas, and keep everything from paint chips to receipts to a list of my stuff and where I bought it.
Congratulations!! A lovely new home for you and your love. It is beautiful and will be so much more as you add your own special touches.
My advice would be to write lists – a list of things to do and a list of places you need to change your address.
And take photos of the house when it’s empty so you have some before pics, then when you put your touches on it you can compare
Beautiful house!! Congratulations!!
Hello, I’ve moved countless times and it is wonderful to have a house of your own, so congratulations. i never tire of making a house a home. My advice would be to prioritise. Consider your funding, and your needs at present. You might have some ideas that would be longer term plans for what you want to do to the house, maybe if your situation changes. For now, do what you need to make it really feel yours. However much you admire what the previous owners have done, you should feel no need to hang on to anything that doesn’t suit you both. A lick of paint is inexpensive and can completely change the feel of a room. also, if you change your mind, it’s just another can of paint… However much I’ve moved, I’ve never married, but now I have a wedding to plan – September 2010. Hurrah! Best wishes, Claire
