So my first project since my mini-maternity leave was redesigning Erin Ax Events blog. Erin had contacted me a while back but because of baby and getting used to the whole routine, it took a little longer to get back to her. Luckily, she was still interested and I am glad to say, I finished her blog design yesterday.

I love this idea of documenting your pregnancy in a neat keepsake book like Johanna did. I have to admit, I wish I had thought of that. But then again, I’m not one super talented photographer like she is.

This baby will love reading this book when she is a little bigger. What a neat idea! Didn’t I say that already? lol And the design, font choice…everything is just perfect! Check out more pages of this awesome book here.

You’d think someone would of thought about this sooner. I love the idea (even if we are the bag type)

1 / 2 cup (125 ml) sugar
3 tsp (15 ml) all-purpose flour
1 pinch salt
1 / 2 cup (125 ml) cream 35%
1 / 4 cup (65 mL) maple syrup
1 can (28 oz, 796 ml) of pears (halves), drained ***
1 pie crust, unbaked

*** I used fresh pears for this recipe. I cut them thinner and used 2 cups per pie.
Be sure to remove the skin of the pears, I forgot to do so.

Instructions :

1 . Place drained or fresh pears in the bottom of pie crust, and round up the sides of the crust.

2 . Combine remaining ingredients and mix

3. Pour mixture over pears.

4 .  Bake at 350 degrees F (180 ° C) on lower rack of oven. If you use a disposable aluminum plate, place on a cookie sheet to brown for the bottom of the pie. Bake 40 minutes or more ( I baked my pies for 1 hour) until you start having a golden brown top (the color of the pie crust is also an indication that it’s ready)

Cool and eat slowly.

Even though I forgot to take the pear skin off (what was I thinking?!?) it was really really good. Sweet but good. This is a quick an easy recipe, and I’d imagine you can substitute the pears for peaches. Bon Appetit!

I have a confession to make. I am not a fan of themed or primary color coded baby clothes. I want my son to wear mini-monsieur clothes and not be the official mascot of Disney or Sesame Street (no offense, it just doesn’t float my boat)

So ya, I couldn’t resist taking a trip to the store and purchase a few items you see here. We got some shoes, shirts, pants, and even onesies. I can’t wait for it to get a little colder so that I can actually dress him up in them

This movie is my ultimate favorite disney movie. I mean, I know ALL the songs, and I even combed my hair as Belle when I was younger. Eeeeee I am so excited you have no idea. I feel like an 8 year old, all over again. What’s your favorite Disney Movie? (I have to admit that The Little Mermaid is also my fave… but I have that one on DVD already )

weight that is. But it’s not from the less dairy. We saw the pediatrician and said that cutting dairy wasn’t what was causing baby’s tummy aches. Otherwise he would be screaming constantly (if he was having an intolerance to lactose)

So I was beyond excited that I can eat cheese and finish that brownie ice cream I had bought a couple of days before I started the no-dairy diet. With that said, I’ve been eating what i would usually eat. No specific healthy diet for weight loss (anyway not yet) but… I started drinking lots and lots of water.

I realized I wasn’t drinking enough (they say mothers who breastfeed need to drink 2 liters of water a day) How did I realize I wasn’t drinking enough? Bladder infection. Yup no fun and now I’m on meds (but that are breastfeeding friendly)

Anyway… this post was about weight-loss.
Last time I checked, I was at about 9lbs shy of my post-pregnancy weight. Well… I am happy to report that a little over a week later I have 5.5 lbs left to loose. and I didn’t even start exercising yet.) So ya, I am ecstatic. My goal, is that at my 2 month (after baby is born) doctor appointment, I weigh less than my 185 lbs. That would be amazing!!

I love free fonts, but not the typical ones. When I saw Geomancy… I started having flashes of what I can do with this font. With some letterforms taken directly from posters and ephemera of the period, the all-uppercase set comes with many alternates and ligatures, so you can give a little of that varied, hand-painted feel to your work.

I love this little guy. Even if he was being difficult, crying and pooped all over the place that day. (yup you read right) I think we got some sweet pictures.
