Profiles of a coupon user

Seeing I’ve been intense in the couponning department, I was laughing when I saw this infographic about the profiles of a coupon user. I have to admit, I’ve gone through pretty much every stage …

Profiles of a Coupon User | Blushink.com

after 6 months of intense couponning, I’d like to consider myself a perfect blend of all 3 (clearly not a newbie anymore). Let’s just say I adapt myself to the current weekly sales with my binder in hand. What profile are you?

DIY = Mother’s day Album

Being a mother myself, I find that I appreciate mothers day even more. That my mom deserves the world and you only understand what she has done for you when you become a mother yourself. Maybe you can blame the hormones, but just thinking what my mom went through when I was 0-6 months makes me cry. (I was crying every single minute for 6 months straight – and I’m not exaggerating)

I find that sometimes going back to the basics is what makes it even more special… so why not whip out the scissors and glue (just like when you were in school) and make your mom a great mothers day gift. Even if she says she doesn’t want anything, the appreciation even in the smallest gesture warms her heart. I came across this beautiful DIY Mothers Day Mini Album on the Simple as That blog and thought I would share.

For more pictures and a template to create your own album, visit the Simple as That blog.

I’m due around mothers day… how sweet a gift would that be for my mom (and me)

Push like a button

I love buttons and when they are used in ways other than on clothing it makes it that much more fun. Loving these button push pins from Present and Correct. Love the color choices! (and well… if you don’t want to go out and buy them, you can always DIY some button push pins with some hot glue, buttons and pins)

Talk about a cute hostess gift (pins or magnets)

Michaels crafts it’s way to Quebec

A couple of years ago I contacted Michaels to see if they had any franchise possibilities for a Montreal store. The person I spoke unfortunately announced that it wasn’t a possibility. This made me sad because I knew how much we were missing out on not only the great products but great deals.

Fast forward to last summer, my little family took a mini 2 hour road trip to Ontario to buy a few items on sale (and worth the trip) just as we were about leave the cashier (who knew we came from Montreal because of our postal code) gladly told us that there were plans on opening a Montreal location. I seriously jumped with joy! She said she didn’t know when or where but that it was in the works seeing they were training a regional manager. How excited we’re we! (my husband more than me)

When the cashier told us a Montreal location I figured it was just 1. Well NO!!!! they are opening 7… 7 stores in the greater montreal region come fall of this year. Cue the crafting angels…. Ahhhhhhhh

So after 6 years of wanting the craft store in my province it’s finally near… Really near. Thank you Michaels for crafting your way to Quebec. You won’t be disappointed.

I just feel the store gods have heard my prayers over the years. Crate & Barrel, Tiffany & Co., Michaels and Target in 2013. We are making progress people.

Birdsong Gregory’s Ho Ho Ho

The holidays are here (clearly)… heck Christmas is this weekend (how did that happen?) But I never get tired of seeing cards. I love paper and this beautiful Holiday “gift pack”, which includes 3 cards, gift tags, postcards and an ornament, illustrated, designed and printed all by Lauren Bowles and her team at Birdsong Gregory makes me one happy happy designer. It’s work like this that makes me appreciate my line of work and I can truly admire the throught that went behind this piece of art. (because it truly is)

What holiday card have your seen this year that made you all happy and cheery?

I make pretty things…

Today is labour day! (happy day off to everyone!) Well it’s not really a day off for me because I’m taking advantage to work on some Blushink projects. That being said, I am typing this, latte in hand at a coffee shop ready to tackle my design to-do list.

Lots of great projects in the works and I can’t wait to share them with you. Until then, I leave you with this image of a poster that could basically be my motto. I would switch it up and say “I make things pretty, all day.” but the message is there! I might have to design something similar for my office in the near, near future!

Le Wishlist : Pantone PostCards

I don’t know what my obsession with Pantone are but I love practically anything designed around the universal color chart. Maybe it’s my grown up version obsession similar to the one I had with I was younger with my PrismaColor Crayons? Obviously I own a Pantone Chart. (and use it daily) so when I saw these Pantone PostCards, I automatically put it in my wishlist. Gah, they make my heart skip a beat. Yes, I know… I’m a nerd like that.
