I admit, I’m difficult when it comes to looking at baby bedding. I have all these rules, that generally expecting moms don’t…. and I’m sure if I were to list them, you would all look at me weird, or be like “really?!?” I mentioned last week that the room was painted before we knew we were expecting, and that 90% of the room design/decor would be based on the bedding we would choose.
I am really lucky, because the hubs tends to trust me with all the house decoration, and of course he gives his opinion, but knows that in the end what I come up with, looks good and/or better than what he thought. So ask him what he would like to have as room decor… he’s going to say animals, butterflies, planes… etc…. exactly the opposite of what I want. But try and find baby bedding without those elements. Not the easiest task.
I want modern, a mixture of textures and patterns… and IF and I mean IF there happens to be anything in the list above, it better be modern and not too in your face.
Here are a couple of bedding inspiration… I thought I would share with those who like me… don’t like the classic stuff.

Blossom Bedding: MiGi Style

Blue Bullseye Bedding : JJ Cole

Pinwheel Bedding: MiGi Style

Garden Blossom Bedding : Dwell Studio
Do you have a distinct taste when it comes to baby decor? Do you know of any awesome modern bedding sites that are must sees? I’m still trying to find a way to incorporate some typography elements… so maybe next time around, I look at nursery decor inspiration and maybe then, I might find the bedding to match the decor. Ya, okay who am I kidding. It’s not that simple! But I wish!

Nurseryworks has some wonderful modern crib sets — quite expensive at “real” prices, but you can find them at substantial discounts with a little searching. We got ours at Overstock.com.
If you want something with an actual alphabet, Lourdes at The Higher Nest (Mrs, um, Petunia? I get the P flowers mixed up…) featured a set of very cute alphabet bedding a few weeks back. I think the brand was MiGi?
I designed my little girl’s room around the bedding as well. I found the perfect (I mean perfect) set from Glenna Jean. It was a little expensive, so I called the company and asked them if they had any “seconds” in the pattern that I wanted and they did! It had a small crooked seam on the blanket that I never would have noticed and I got the whole set at a fraction of the cost (like a quarter of the price)!
I hand painted little woodland critters and trees and flowers around her room and it is the perfect resting place for my little princess.
Good luck and have fun! It’s a very exciting time!
Sometimes it is a bit hard to choose from the different brands and styles of baby beddings out there on the market. I usually pick the one that fits my budget,;~
hey, weird I was actually thinking this today..
This pictures are so great. I love the designs.
i always prefer those wool and cotton baby beddings because they keep the baby warm`.;
i always make sure that my baby bedding does not have any dust mites on it-,`
i love decorating the rooms in our house, i always use room decors which are nice and cute~”~
room decors should also have bright colors so that they look warm and lively inside your home.’~
I love all of the bright colors, they fit the room perfectly.
How Fun…
Greetings! I know this is kind of off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this website? I’m getting fed up of WordPress because I’ve had issues with hackers and I’m looking at options for another platform. I would be great if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
I’m on wordpress as well. I know, the hacking has been a big issue lately. Hopefully WordPress will figure something out.
