It finally feels like summer in Chicago. The sun is shining brightly, the sky is azure blue, and the vibe in the city is playful and happy. It is definitely my favorite time of year. And what better way to ring in summer than to share some of my favorite items for the season?
Favorite Summer Sandals:
Matt Berson Bo Peep Sandals: First recommended by the lovely Ran from Crewlade, I ordered these in a supple tan leather. Not only are they ridiculously comfortable and stylish, but the wedge heels makes anyone (even a 5’2 shortie like myself) look leggy and lean.
Favorite Summer Dresses:
Summer is all about a lovely, breezy sundress. I’m a fan of either bright, saturated colors in warm weather or wearing fresh, clean white. It’s also great if you can find a dress that can easily be dressed up or down. Switching out jewelry and accessories can make any of these dresses perfect for a BBQ or a night out. For example, with the first dress, I would wear it with a jean jacket/cardigan and maybe a woven belt for day. For night, I would wear it with metallic wedge heels and an armful of colorful bangles.
Favorite Summer Beauty:
A face full of makeup does not work when it’s hot and humid out. You want fresh-faced and dewy, not sweaty and overdone. I have a couple products in my arsenal when the weather warms up: a great body scrub to keep your skin smooth, a light tinted moisturizer with SPF, and a pretty lip balm.
Favorite Summer Scent:
Bath and Body Works Coconut Lime Verbena: The sweetness of the coconut is perfectly cut by the lime and verbena in this fresh scent by BBW. The lotion is deliciously refreshing after a morning shower and its not too heavy or cloying for hot summer weather.
